The Yellows n’ Blacks will face Oratory Youths for the second time in a space of 5 days. This time, the match will be valid for the 1st Division KO. Actually this match was meant to be played in the beginning of the month but was postponed as it clashed with the Youths FA Trophy match against Marsaskala.
After last Friday’s close shave, the Tigers will try to improve their performance in order to try to win more convincingly and show their real strength. Although taking two positive results from the first 2 matches, many are expecting an improvement in the performances. Ironically, until now, the best stretches of play arrived when the Tigers were playing with a man down. For this match Xewkija will have Christian Bugeja missing while Christ Camilleri is still struggling with a muscular strain. This match could be the debut from the 1st minute for Thierry Tazameta who until now featured against the same Youths and Ghajnsielem as a substitute. Rodney Buttigieg is eligibile to play after being sent off in the last game, though he must serve a match suspension in the league.
Oratory Youths surely have their heads held high after nearly nicking a point from their much quoted opponents. Spanish defender Javier Polo Longarela gave them stability at the back while duo Anderson Mendes Ribeiro and Manuel Cordina could operate dangerously especially during counter-attacks. It is still unclear whether experienced goalkeeper Mark Grima and midfielder Sam-Frank Bajada will make their return from injuries.
The game will be played on Tuesday 29th September 2015 at the Gozo Stadium. Kick-off time: 19:00.
